Volkswagen plans to let the contracts of more than 1,000 temporary workers expire, Dagens News reported. The temporary employees are at the company’s plant in Zwickau, Saxony. The report noted that increased demand for electric cars has led to the cuts. The company employs 11,000 people at the Zwickau plan with 2,700 on fixed-term contracts.
