TheraEx Staffing is merging with the SVC Group of Companies in a deal that closed in June, the companies announced.
Both companies will merge expertise and resources to create a more comprehensive entity, Rey Rivera, founder of TheraEx, said in a call with SIA. Both firms are retaining their distinct entities and operational structures.
“This kind of merger is kind of a strategic alliance allowing us to share the responsibilities and the rewards,” Rivera said.
Based in Concord, California, TheraEx provides travel nursing and allied healthcare professionals on a per diem and travel basis. It also began a locum tenens business two years ago, and growth of this division is a primary focus.
“We’re thrilled to bring TheraEx into the SVC group of companies as we consolidate with additional healthcare staffing acquisitions and [joint ventures],” SVC founder Thomas Fante said in a press release.
Terms of the transaction were not announced.
“This is our fourth group joining us this year in healthcare staffing and a key part of our strategy to consolidate regional and niche staffing firms for market stability and superior service,” Eric Allison, president of SVC, said in a press release. “We believe a market consolidation is key for long term stability.”
Earlier this month, SVC announced the acquisitions of two other firms, TeamRecruit and OCal Solutions.
