Workstaff, a Canadian temp staff management platform, announced the close of a CA$1.6 million (US$1.16 million) seed financing round on July 23.

The round, which closed in March, was led by Normand Bélisle, the former president of Québecor Digital, with participation from the provincially funded Investissement Québec via their Impulsion PME program and Anges Québec, Betakit reported.

The funding will enable Workstaff to expand into global markets and enhance its product offering that helps companies find, schedule and manage temporary and flexible staff, according to the company.
“The funding will primarily be used to expand the Workstaff team and bolster its entrance into the US$186 billion staffing and recruiting market, an effort that began last year,” Betakit quoted Workstaff CEO Nick Dauchezas saying.

Montreal-headquartered Workstaff was founded in 2020.
