Randstad’s January and February’s hiring campaign will generate a total of 172,450 hires in Spain, an increase of 19.8% compared to the previous year, when 144,000 contracts were registered.
The transport and logistics sector will be the main driver of employment in this hiring campaign, with 115,625 contracts planned, representing 67% of the total. This sector is set to grow by 26.1% compared to 2024. For its part, the commerce sector will generate 56,825 contracts, 8.7% more than in the previous year.
Andrés Menéndez, Director of General Staffing at Randstad Spain, said in a press release, “The upturn in commercial and logistics activity during the sales campaign reflects the dynamism of the Spanish labour market, driven by the growing demand in both e-commerce and the return to more traditional consumption habits. This behaviour is allowing key sectors, such as transport and logistics, to lead the growth in employment.”
By community, Catalonia (31,400), Andalusia (28,280) and the Community of Madrid (28,025) stand out as the regions with the highest volume of contracts, together accounting for 51% of all the contracts planned for this campaign.
Meanwhile, Castilla-La Mancha in Central Spain is set to be the community with the highest percentage growth, with an increase of 32.9%.
