Tata Consulting Engineers buys CDI Engineering Solutions

Tata Consulting Engineers has acquired CDI Engineering Solutions from private equity firm AE Industrial Partners.
Houston-based CDI provides engineering, procurement and construction management services. CDI’s offerings also include staffing through its technical resourcing division.
“This marks a transformative chapter in TCE’s growth story,” L Krishnakumar, chairman of Tata Consulting Engineers, said in a statement. “The addition of CDI significantly enhances our global presence and strengthens our ability to deliver impactful engineering solutions across industries and geographies.”
CDI was founded in 1950 as Comprehensive Designers. It had more than 600 employees in 2024.
“We wish the team at CDI the best as they embark on their next phase of growth,” Graham Kantor, VP at AE Industrial, said in a statement. “This transaction is a strong strategic fit, which will allow TCE to expand its presence in the US market by leveraging CDI’s strong market position and engineering expertise.”
Tata Consulting Engineers was founded in 1962 as a joint venture between India-based Tata Group and US-based Ebasco Services. TCE has been contacted for additional information in the deal.
