The SVC Group of Companies announced the acquisitions of healthcare staffing providers OCal Solutions and TeamRecruit and said it expects to make additional acquisitions. The company also named Amelia Christy as president of TeamRecruit.
“TeamRecruit’s impact on our group will be significant as we seek to improve delivery and cut costs with technology and highly skilled offshore staff,” Eric Allison, president of SVC, said in a statement.
The TeamRecruit deal closed in April, while the purchase of OCal Solutions was completed in May.
TeamRecruit, a staffing firm that recruits for the staffing industry, is based in Orlando, Florida. Its co-founder, Jason Baum, remains a minority partner in the firm after the acquisition.
“I’ve known Thomas and Eric for nearly 25 years, and their track record is proven,” Jason Baum, co-founder of TeamRecruit, said in a press release. “We are thrilled to join forces with SVC, assuring our employees additional opportunities with RPO and direct hire solutions.”
In assuming the president role, Christy said TeamRecruit stood out because of the value it places on relationships with clients and candidates as well as SVC’s leadership with Allison.
Christy, who joined TeamRecruit on July 8, was previously a founder of staffing firm KNA Solutions. Christy has been in the staffing industry for 10 years and is based in the greater Philadelphia area.
“Taking on the role of president at TeamRecruit allowed me to bring my expertise to a dynamic and innovative team under the SVC group of companies and help position TeamRecruit as a leader in the staffing industry,” she said in an email to SIA.
The other acquired firm, OCal Solutions, focuses on nonacute nursing and PRN and is based in Canton, Ohio.
“SVC bring the technology partners we need in PRN, creating a perfect collaboration with our rapidly growing business approach,” OCal President Scott Postlewaite said in a press release.
It’s SVC’s first acquisition in Ohio.
“We’re excited to bring OCal Solutions into our family as we consolidate with additional healthcare staffing acquisitions,” SVC founder Thomas Fante said in a press release.
Terms of the transactions were not announced.
Allison said SVC plans further acquisitions going ahead. It has been a broker for staffing firms in M&A deals, mainly on the seller side. However, SVC also has a focus on acquiring staffing firms to build them up.
“The bulk of my business is more accelerator model,” Allison said in an interview. “We partner or acquire staffing firms and then our goal is to merge them or help clean them up.”
SVC is based in Nevada and owned by the Fante family.
