IT staffing firm Stafford Technology acquired creative staffing firm Portfolio Creative. Both firms are headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.

Portfolio Creative CEO Catherine Lang-Cline and COO Kristen Harris will step down after a transition period. However, clients, job seekers and companies hiring through Portfolio will retain their existing contacts.

The decision to sell the creative staffing firm was driven by high demand for technical expertise and the anticipated surge in jobs within the creative-tech space. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“We knew we would have to expand into IT and tech at some point,” Lang-Cline told Staffing Industry Analysts. “After a year-long search for buyers, Jeremy Florea, founder and president of Stafford Technology, emerged as the ideal fit. His shared vision and established trust aligned perfectly with our goals to innovate and advance creative staffing.”

“AI technology is transforming our industry with an increasing focus on technical roles. The timing, fit and cultural alignment were ideal, so we decided to proceed,” she added.

Founded in 2005, Portfolio Creative serves clients across various industries including fashion, retail, design, marketing and more. Following the acquisition of Portfolio Creative, Stafford Technology now employs nearly 5,000 professionals serving 300 organizations across15 states, according to the company.
