US temporary staffing hours fell — both year over year and from the preceding week — during the week ended Dec. 28, according to the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator - January 7, 2025, report.
“The strong sequential decrease in the last full week of 2024 reflects the impact of holiday season-related business closures on staffing demand,” according to the report. “The holiday season marks the end of the slight ramp in staffing volume that matched a common seasonal pattern of increased activity related to end-of-year holiday consumer spending.”
