Sprockets, an AI-powered platform that sources, screens and hires workers, acquired HourWork, a Boston-based AI-driven recruitment and retention platform.
Founded by Rahkeem Morris in 2017, HourWork provides a platform for retaining hourly workers through automated check-ins and recruiting and re-engaging workers, including past applicants and former employees. More than 10,000 quick-service restaurant locations across the US use the platform.
With the acquisition, Sprocket aims to expand its product suite to staffing services covering recruitment, screening, post-hire employee engagement and exit interviews.
“We’re constantly looking to innovate and expand our offerings to better serve both workers and businesses,” AJ Richichi, CEO and founder of Sprockets, said in a press release.
“HourWork’s dedication to transforming hourly work is a natural fit with our commitment to helping businesses hire and retain the best employees. They’ve built a phenomenal product that pairs well with the Sprockets platform to ensure that every worker has access to fulfilling job opportunities and that every business remains fully staffed with engaged, productive employees.”
Richichi noted that the acquisition would enable Sprockets to accelerate its growth and continue enhancing the hourly workforce experience while improving employers’ bottom lines.
Sprockets, founded in 2016, is based in Charleston, South Carolina.
