ServiceNow Ventures invested $5 million in Oyster, a global employer-of-record provider, the company announced today.

The move by ServiceNow Ventures follows Oyster’s recent Series D funding round valuing Oyster at $1.2 billion.

“Their investment strengthens our position as a trusted provider and gives us ample resources to scale effectively while bringing innovative solutions to our customers,” Oyster co-founder and CEO Tony Jamous said in a press release.

Oyster’s Series D funding round announced in September was for $59 million. It was led by Silver Lake Waterman. Total funding raised with ServiceNow Ventures’ investment is now $291 million.

“Oyster’s strategy to build the infrastructure and intelligence required to make global hiring as easy and scalable as local hiring, coupled with an intent focus on the customer, gives us confidence in their ability to transform the hiring process and deliver great experiences for employees,” Victor Chang, VP of ServiceNow Ventures, said in a press release.
