Proman, the world’s 11th-largest staffing provider, has an optimistic outlook.

The France-based privately held company said in an exclusive interview with SIA that revenue rose 7.3% to €4.4 billion (USD 4.58 billion) in 2024, up from €4.1 billion in 2023.

It anticipates revenue of €5 billion this year with a combination of acquisitive and organic growth. CEO Roland Gomez said the company is planning for two or three acquisitions this year.

The family-owned staffing firm now has 1,024 branches in 18 countries, including the US. Revenue from its US operations was approximately USD 450 million in 2024.

Proman has been in the US market since its 2018 acquisition of Northbrook, Illinois-based Paramount Staffing. It also acquired clerical and light industrial staffing provider PeopleShare in 2023; the company was based in Philadelphia. In addition, Proman has made acquisitions in Europe, including its October 2023 buy of French digital staffing platform iziwork.

About half the company’s revenue comes from France and the other half from outside the country.

Looking at the current staffing markets in Europe and the US, Gomez said they are complicated. It appears things are going backward in France, the US, the Netherlands and Belgium. He doesn’t anticipate improvement in the European market for the next six months. However, the firm remains optimistic and focused on growth.

The current US presidential administration has discussed tariffs on trading partners among other changes. Gomez said there was discussion on the changes during a recent company meeting in New Orleans, and it wasn’t felt those changes would have a negative impact on the company’s activities. Right now, he’s optimistic on this as well.

“The States has always been a welcoming home for everybody,” Gomez said.

Proman has also been tracking the use of artificial intelligence, which was the subject of several discussions at the company’s recent meeting in New Orleans. Gomez said the focus is on using AI to take on low value-added tasks from humans and let them focus on sales and recruitment. As an example, he noted the company’s recent acquisition of temporary staffing company iziwork in 2023. Last year, iziwork announced izIA , an AI-powered virtual employment advisor that responds to requests from candidates and temporary employees.
