Poland’s temporary workforce up slightly in Q3

The number of temporary workers in Poland increased by 0.4% in Q3 2024 when compared to the same period last year, according to estimates of the Polish market from Polskie Forum HR (PFHR) and the Polish Human Resources Forum (PFHR).

The number of temporary workers within PFHR was down 4.8% in Q3 2024 when compared to Q3 2023. Temporary workers (full-time equivalent) fell by 9.1% in Q3 2024 when compared to Q3 2023.

Meanwhile, temporary work turnover of PFHR companies totalled PLN 1.10 billion (€255.1 million) in Q3 2024, up 3.9% over Q2 2024 and down 0.3% over Q3 2024.

Overall, the total turnover of PFHR members in Q3 2024 totalled PLN 1.79 billion (€415.2 million), with no change over the prior year after adjustment for change in a number of reporting entities. Temporary work comprised 61.5% of this turnover, followed by outsourcing (25.3%), posting of workers (5.6%), recruitment (4.1%), RPO (1.4%), others (2.1%) and career management (0.1%).

Turnover of PFHR member companies in outsourcing stood at PLN 454 million (€105.3 million), down 0.2% when compared to Q2 2023 and up 10.2% over the prior year.

Turnover of PFHR member companies in recruitment services totalled PLN 69 million (€16.0 million) for the recruitment of Polish employers (down 5.5% year-on-year) and PLN 4 million (€0.9 million) (down 33% year-on-year) for the recruitment of foreign employers.

Further data showed that the turnover of PFHR member companies for the posting of workers was down 5.6% to PLN 100 million (€23.2 million). At the same time, turnover of PFHR member companies for RPO stood at PLN 25 million (€5.8 million), down 10.7% compared to the same period a year ago.
