More Polish companies are planning to hire temporary workers in the third quarter of 2024 when compared to Q2 2024, according to research from the Temporary Work Index prepared by talent platform Tikrow published in Polskie Forum HR.

According to the research, 61% of Polish companies will reach for support from temporary workers in Q3, this is 1% more than three months ago.

Costs were the main factor influencing the search for temporary workers with 41% of companies citing this. Over a third (36%) cited a seasonal increase in orders.

Krzysztof Trębski, member of the board of Tikrow and head of sales, said in a press release, “We expect that the number of companies testing this form of employment will increase. Not only due to problems with staff shortages, but also because the community of employees who want to work flexibly is constantly growing, and as a result, more companies, also in areas where occasional work was not so popular, have the opportunity to test the real potential of such support.”

By sector, the logistics industry expressed the greatest interest (66%) in hiring temporary workers, 6% more than in Q2.

Meanwhile, the largest quarter-on-quarter increase was recorded in the trade sector. Today, 62% of companies in the trade sector plan to employ temporary workers, an increase of 12% from Q2.

In the case of the manufacturing sector, the demand for temporary work has fallen compared to the previous edition of the indicator, although it still remains at a fairly high level. Over half of companies (56%) in this sector plan to hire temporary workers this quarter, down from 66% in the prior quarter.
