The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry announced that on Monday it adopted OSHA’s emergency temporary standard requiring large employers with 100 or more employees to require their workers be vaccinated or undergo regular Covid-19 testing.
Bloomberg reported Minnesota was the first state to adopt the emergency temporary standard.
Minnesota plans to follow OSHA’s lead in not issuing citations for noncompliance until Jan. 10.
The Minnesota agency noted the emergency temporary standard is in the courts and a decision by the US Court of Appeals to not require a stay as the standard goes through the court process has been appealed to the US Supreme Court. The agency said it will react accordingly as the litigation proceeds through the court.
