Manpower, a division of ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN), is opening branch offices inside seven Walmart stores across the US. They are designed to serve active job seekers or casual shoppers who may want to explore employment options in their area.
The offices will handle administrative/clerical, industrial, skilled technical roles, Manpower Senior VP Rajesh Namboothiry said in an interview with SIA.
“We definitely are on a path to expand our geo footprint,” Namboothiry said. “As we looked at that, we wanted to find ways to continue to expand and be closer to our talent.” That’s when the idea came to introduce the co-locations.
The first two Walmart stores to have Manpower branch offices are opening Sept. 13 in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and High Point, North Carolina.
Five other branches are scheduled to open in late September through early November. They will be located in:
- Fayetteville, Georgia
- Humble, Texas
- Oak Park Heights, Minnesota
- Dallas, Texas
- Raleigh, North Carolina
Namboothiry said Manpower chose the locations after scoring areas across the US based in demand, talent availability and employer concentration.
Plans call to add more co-locations going forward.
“We aim to provide products and services in our stores that enhance the shopping experience and contribute to a better quality of life for our customers,” Walmart Senior Director Tené Green said in a press release. “One of the pathways to a quality life is through employment.”
