Magnit acquisitions culminate in new AI-powered platform

Magnit today unveiled a new AI-powered platform that incorporates aspects of “the best” technology from its recent acquisitions together with its own.

The company, formerly PRO Unlimited, is an active acquirer and has purchased Workforce Logiq, WillHire and Brainnet, among others in recent years. Its new Magnit Platform, announced at SIA’s CWS Summit event in Dallas, seeks to tap into “the best of all the acquisitions,” according to Vidhya Srinivasan, Magnit’s chief product and marketing officer.

The platform’s data ocean — which includes VMS data and market data — is “curated” with industry expertise and multiple talent sourcing channels to help companies better optimize their workforces, Srinivasan added.

“Our goal was to take all the tech we got from those acquisitions and not just integrate it, but rethink, re-platform, modernize and build what we are launching at CWS Summit,” Srinivasan said in an interview with SIA. “Our journey started by integrating industry-leading capabilities — including pay intelligence, blue-collar, shift-based workforce management, direct sourcing and more — to provide a unified experience to all clients.”

The platform consists of three core layers. The first is a single system of engagement supplemented and empowered by a new generative AI companion called Maggi. The idea behind Maggi is to simplify contingent workforce management by learning a client’s business, automating tasks and delivering insights.

The second layer is a system of action, which enables organizations to create workforces for their specific needs, regardless of the expertise required: blue collar, white collar or blended collar. This layer gives organizations access to qualified candidates for all roles from one platform. End-to-end workflow automation is also a plus, Srinivasan said.

The third layer is a system of record. This is characterized by an AI and machine learning-powered data ocean. It taps into talent channels including suppliers, job boards, freelancer management systems, redeployment opportunities and more, enabling clients to quickly hire top talent. This system of record also gives clients access to proprietary and industry data on market and pay rates by location, skill set and candidate profiles.

‘Uniquely Differentiated’

“The Magnit Platform is uniquely differentiated because it brings together the power of all sourcing and data into one experience,” said Tres Garza, the senior talent acquisition leader at Toyota, in an email to SIA. “By leveraging AI, we are able to get predictive insights and analytics to make more strategic decisions regarding our workforce and be more agile based on what the business needs are.”

Toyota, which is already using portions of Magnit Platform, including staff augmentation and direct sourcing, said it plans to work with Magnit as an early adopter for Maggi.

So far, Garza said, Toyota’s contingent workforce program has already shown significant results, including more than $600,000 in savings using direct sourcing as well as reducing time to fill.
