Alumni Staffing received an investment from private equity firm Harvest Partners Ascend Management. The deal was announced Jan. 15 and gives Harvest Partners a majority stake in the Bridgewater, New Jersey-based provider of locum tenens staffing. Alumni founder and CEO John Pannucci and the existing management team will remain shareholders in the company and continue to run the firm.

“We’ve been extremely impressed with Harvest Ascend’s knowledge of our industry and shared commitment to culture, client service and growth,” Pannucci said in a press release. “We have identified several areas of opportunity within the industry where we believe this partnership will help us gain a competitive edge.”

Alumni said the investment will enable it to accelerate investments in talent development and technology as well as provide for enhancing specialty expertise and expanding geographically.

The deal will also see several executives from Harvest Partners join Pannucci on Alumni Staffing’s board. They are Bobby Kelly, partner and co-head of Harvest Ascent; Kevin Formica, principal; and Andrew Weisman, VP.

Alumni Staffing was founded in 2016. It ranks No. 33 in SIA’s Largest Healthcare Staffing Firms in the United States: 2024 Update report.
