Kelly (NASDAQ: KELYA, KELYB) acquired Minnesota-based Children’s Therapy Center, which specializes in occupational, physical and speech therapy for children from birth to age 18. It will be integrated into Kelly Education’s pediatric therapy services portfolio.

“The acquisition of CTC is the continuing step in Kelly Education’s strategy to expand beyond its core substitute teacher business into other higher-margin adjacencies that support whole-student education and meet the growing demands placed on educators for related therapy services,” the company said in a note to SIA.

CTC works directly with families as well as caregivers, school personnel and other healthcare providers to deliver therapy. Headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota, the company also has an office in Apple Valley, Minnesota.

The deal allows Minnesota school districts — including those who currently partner with Kelly Education’s Teachers On Call — to integrate pediatric therapy services to meet student special education needs.

“This expansion also enables us to bring value to the center’s strong therapist retention practices by offering flexibility to practice in either school or clinical settings, underscoring our commitment to growth and comprehensive service delivery,” Nicola Soares, president of Kelly Education, said in a press release.

The deal closed Nov. 13.

“I am excited about the direction of this innovative adoption by Kelly Education’s PTS specialty brand, bringing together our unique strengths to advance holistic care for children,” Sue Fuller, founder of Children’s Therapy Center, said in a press release. Fuller will be retiring.

Terms of the acquisition were not announced.
