Ireland’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate edges down to 4.1%

Ireland’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.1%, down from 4.4% in November 2023 to 4.2% in October 2024, according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office. 

Overall, the number of unemployed persons stood at 118,900, down 5,400 from the year prior and down 1,400 from October 2024. 

Breaking down the results, November’s jobless rate was 4.1% for females, decreasing from 4.3% in October 2024 to 4.6% in November 2023. 

The monthly unemployment rate in November 2024 was 4.1% for males, unchanged from October 2024 and down from 4.3% in November 2023. 

In terms of age, the monthly unemployment rate for people aged 15-24 years (youth unemployment rate) increased to 10.9% from a revised rate of 10.8% in October 2024.  

At the same time, the monthly unemployment rate for people aged 25-74 years was 3%, down from the revised rate of 3.1% in October 2024.
