Blue-collar hiring platform JobGet acquired blue-collar temporary staffing platform Snagajob in a deal that closed Nov. 15.
“Snagajob and JobGet have long been two of the biggest players in the hourly workforce space,” Tony Liu, co-founder and CEO of JobGet, said in a note to SIA. “In our conversations over the last year, we saw that we could create a better experience for both hourly workers looking for jobs and employers looking for hourly workers, if we joined forces.”
The deal brings JobGet’s reach to more than 100 million hourly workers, filling roles in food service, retail, customer service, hospitality, manufacturing and elsewhere, according to the company.
“Acquiring Snagajob aligns with JobGet’s long-term vision to become the ultimate platform for hourly workers,” Liu said. “This move positions us to lead the industry during a transformative period.”
Snagajob will operate as a standalone entity within JobGet, he said. This will enable employers to use Snagajob’s platform while benefiting from JobGet’s resources and technology.
Snagajob CEO Keith Forshew said in a press release that Snagajob’s work will continue under JobGet.
“Since Snagajob was founded 25 years ago, the company’s mission of helping hourly workers find right-fit jobs has never wavered, and we’re confident that this mission will not only continue but thrive as part of JobGet,” Forshew said.
Forshew will not remain with the combined firm but will act as an advisor on an ongoing basis.
Terms of the transaction were not announced.
