Recruiting platform acquired candidate assessment and screening firm Py, according to an announcement today.

San Francisco-based Py has more than 500,000 users and is based in San Francisco. Terms of the transaction were not announced. Py’s workers are joining Hired effective immediately, including founder Deker Lo.

Py’s products include Py for Work and the Py App. Plans call for Py for Work to be branded as Hired Assessments - it includes online coding quizzes and challenges, real-world projects and a “live code” environment where hiring managers can track candidates’ results.

“With Py founder Derek Lo, we saw a shared vision for making hiring easier for everyone,” said Andre Charoo, VP of Strategic Development at Hired. “For companies, this means helping them hire in-demand talent quickly and predictably, and for job seekers, it is about empowering them to land their dream job. By combining Py’s technical assessment expertise with Hired’s dependable pipeline of first-rate talent, we’re ready to transform today’s hiring standards.”

San Francisco-based Hired’s platform collects information from candidates and uses an algorithm to match them to the best jobs.
