Smaller staffing buyers may have gotten the attention of the large VMS players. Enterprise VMS provider Beeline announced a new product, Beeline Professional, that is aimed at staffing buyers with contingent spend of between $5 million and $35 million annually.

“This is the first time I have seen a large enterprise VMS create a new platform that is aimed at [the emerging and midsize] market,” said Cindy Chunn, workforce technology solutions analyst at SIA.

Beeline’s product launched last year, though the company formally announced it on June 25. It’s a separate product from Beeline’s enterprise offering and not a watered-down version.

“More companies are using contingent labor and we found that midmarket companies or companies with a midsize contingent workforce have the same overall needs as our enterprise clients (automation, visibility, compliance, savings, etc.); however, they don’t have a large dedicated team and need a more lightweight VMS that is easy to use and turnkey.” Beeline said in a statement to SIA.

Many VMS offerings have focused on larger firms. A majority of enterprise firms, 81%, already have a VMS in place, according to SIA’s Workforce Solutions Buyer Survey 2024.
