Dutch temporary staffing hours fall, turnover down slightly

The temporary employment sector in the Netherlands saw a decrease in hours while turnover fell slightly during the ninth period of 2024 (week 33 – 36, starting 12 August), according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU).
In period 9, the number of hours decreased by 7%, and turnover decreased by 1% compared to the same period last year.
In the administrative sector, the number of hours decreased by 15%, and turnover decreased by 8% compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in the industrial sector, the number of hours decreased by 3% and turnover increased by 4% compared to the same period last year.
ABU’s research also found that the number of hours decreased by 12%, and turnover decreased by 5% compared to the same period last year.
