The temporary employment sector in the Netherlands saw a decrease in hours while turnover was also down during the eighth period of 2024 (week 29 – 32, starting 15 July), according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU).
In period 8, the number of hours decreased by 7% while turnover was unchanged compared to the same period last year.
In the administrative sector, the number of hours decreased by 15% and turnover decreased by 7% compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in the industrial sector, the number of hours decreased by 4% and turnover increased by 4% compared to the same period last year.
ABU’s research also showed that in the technical sector, hours decreased by 11% and turnover decreased by 4% compared to the same period last year.
The next ABU market monitor will be published on 1 October 2024.
Earlier this week, Statistics Netherlands data found that the Dutch temporary employment sector reported a turnover increase of 2.4% in Q2 2024 when compared to the second quarter of 2023
