Consolid, a recruitment specialist in transport and logistics, and 24/7 Drive focusing on recruitment and temporary employment in the same sector, have announced plans to merge.

Both firms are based in the Netherlands.

“The proposed merger is an important strategic step that enables us to further expand our services and support customers even better,” Marco Broeknellis, director of Consolid, said in a press release. “Together we are stronger and can respond more efficiently to the increasing demand for flexible and qualified personnel.”

The firms said the merger offers customers a broader and more complete range of services. The joint organisation will focus on: recruitment process outsourcing, temporary employment, international recruitment, payrolling, secondment, training and education, self-employed support and platformisation of services. Secondment in the Netherlands is when an employee works for a company temporarily but remains employed by the company that lends them out.

“By joining forces, we not only broaden our range of services but also offer our customers access to a larger network of qualified temporary workers,” Andrew Zwaarts, CEO and owner of 24/7 Drive, said. “Both companies fit well together because of their shared family culture. Consolid and 24/7 drive are originally family businesses with a lot of attention for personal involvement, flexibility and long-term relationships. This ensures a natural fit in how we work and interact with each other.”

The companies said that for now, both firms will continue to operate as customers, suppliers and employees are used to.

With the proposed merger, Consolid owners Dennis and Arian Mortier are leaving the firm. They will remain involved in the coming period to ensure a smooth transition.

The new organisation will be led by a management team consisting of representatives from both Consolid and 24/7 drive. The holding company will be managed by Andrew Zwaarts and Mark Ooiman, while the daily management of Consolid and 24/7 drive will be in the hands of Andrew Zwaarts (CEO 24/7 drive & Consolid), Marco Broeknellis (COO Consolid), Liesbeth la Lau (CFO Consolid), Rutger van Katwijk (COO 24/7 drive NL), Michel van Bekkum (COO 24/7 drive EU), and Loek Swinkels (CFO 24/7 drive). Scheybeeck will remain involved in the new organisation as a shareholder and will continue to contribute to its further development and growth in that role.

The merger is still pending approval by the competition authorities. This process is expected to be completed in the coming months.
