ConverzAI, which provides an AI-powered virtual recruiter for staffing firms, announced a $16 million series A funding round. The company plans to accelerate innovation and expand its go-to-market strategy with the investment.

Its product aims to operate as a virtual recruiter that can handle the recruitment pipeline from initial candidate sourcing through final placement using generative AI and agent AI principles. It handles conversations with candidates through voice, text and email.

The funding round was led by Menlo Ventures, which was joined by Left Lane Capital. Also participating in the round were seed investors Foundation Capital and Afore Capital.

“ConverzAI’s solution is in a sweet spot at the intersection of agentic AI, voice AI and recruiting,” Venky Ganesan, partner at Menlo Ventures, said in a press release.

ConverzAI also announced it aims to increase its workforce and expand internationally by the end of the year.

“I founded ConverzAI to create transformational value for organizations by automating and optimizing the recruitment process,” Ashwarya Poddar, founder and CEO of ConverzAI, said in a press release. “We believe conducting entire business conversations through AI technology is simply game-changing.”
