Companies clamber as workers call out sick amid Covid-19 (NPR)

Companies are being hit by a wave of workers calling out sick and companies are scrambling to adapt, according to an NPR article published today. “The impending fear is that we’ll run out of staff,” said Dr. Omar Lateef, president and CEO at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Other companies are cutting business hours because of staff shortages and some are introducing bonuses to workers who complete their scheduled shift within any pay period.
