The Boards of MEGT Australia and gforce employment + recruitment announced this week that they had launched a project to explore a potential merger.
MEGT is an Australian not-for-profit business established in 1982 and supports employers, apprentices, trainees, job seekers, and students. It was registered as a Group Training Organisation (GTO) and continues to operate as a GTO via its recruitment and management services (RMS) team.
Meanwhile, gforce employment + recruitment is an employment and recruitment organisation.
The Boards have affirmed they believe a merger would provide strategic benefits for both organisations and have started a due diligence process. A further update is expected once that is complete, with the aim for a merger decision by 31 March 2025.
The groups stated that the partnership will provide greater scale and opportunity and the ability to invest. This will enable the organisations to better meet community needs in the future.
Both firms state that they will maintain local service delivery teams and will continue to serve their clients under the MEGT and gforce identities. In addition to serving metropolitan communities, the merger will enhance the commitment to rural and regional communities.
MEGT Chair Peter Moore said in a press release, “MEGT and gforce are successful organisations that are respected in their communities. Our partnership combines the skills of our great teams, who share the passion for helping people and greater resources to support our innovation and growth. Together, we will help even more people and more communities.”
gforce Chair Bill Mithen added, “MEGT and gforce share a common heritage and commitment to helping people. Through our merger, we will better serve our existing communities and are excited to build new relationships. We look forward to bringing our strong community connections and benefiting from MEGT’s expertise and scale. Our organisations complement each other and share a common focus on serving our communities into the future.”
