AI transforms job search even as it ups competition, survey says

A majority of workers, 84%, say that AI makes job hunting easier, and 80% are using AI-powered job search platforms, according to a survey of 1,023 US workers by Resume Now. However, 66% say AI has intensified competition, making it harder to stand out.
AI is also influencing how job seekers present themselves. Sixty-eight percent use AI to write résumés, ensuring keyword optimization and a professional tone, while 67% rely on it for personalized cover letters that better align with job descriptions.
“AI is playing an increasingly significant role in job searches,” Resume Now career expert Keith Spencer said in a press release. “Understanding how to navigate AI-driven hiring processes can help job seekers optimize their applications and job search strategies.”
Top AI Tools used by job seekers include: ChatGPT, 58%; résumé builders, 52%; interview preparation tools, 32%; and networking tools, 17%
The survey took place Jan. 21.
