Skillvue, an AI-powered assessment tool, announced a USD 2.8 million funding round on 3 September with the money going to bolster its workforce, including the addition of AI expertise.
“We are making significant strides into a huge problem facing companies,” co-founder and CEO Nicolò Mazzocchi said in a press release. “People have been talking about the skills-based approach for recruiting or existing teams and some have taken steps towards this. With Skillvue, we’ve made this front and center to help companies own a scalable approach to ensure they remain relevant in time to come.”
Mazzocchi founded Skillvue in 2021 with Simone Patera. The company is based in Milan, Italy, and has a team of 13 people. Its clients include French retailer Carrefour, Italian bank Credem and public water company Acquedotto Pugliese.
The pre-seed funding round was co-led by venture capital firm Italian Founders Fund and 14Peaks Capital.
“We strongly believe that AI can play a major role in transforming the way HR teams and departments operate, particularly in the realms of recruitment and employee progression,” Edoardo Ermotti, founder and general partner at 14Peaks Capital, said in a press release.
“Moreover, the assessment of soft skills is becoming increasingly relevant,” Ermotti said. “Through artificial intelligence, HR departments can now uncover unseen potential at scale in both new candidates and the existing workforce.”
