Agilus Work Solutions, a Toronto-based firm that ranks as the eighth-largest staffing provider in Canada, acquired MaxSys Staffing & Consulting, a staffing firm based in Ottawa, Canada.

The deal closed July 31.

“MaxSys expands our national presence,” Agilus CEO Craig Brown said in a press release. “The acquisition will also introduce the Agilus name and services to new industry sectors including health sciences, defense and the federal government. We are excited to welcome the MaxSys team to #teamagilus and look forward to combining their energy, knowledge and commitment to service with ours.”

MaxSys has nine offices across Canada and provides staffing in logistics, IT, health sciences, defense and the public sector.

“Agilus’ national reach and longstanding history in the recruitment industry perfectly complements the MaxSys team,” Bryan Brulotte, owner, CEO and executive chairman of MaxSys, said in a press release. “Joining Agilus will allow us to rapidly expand to meet and exceed the growing expectations of our clients and consultants.”

Brulotte will serve as executive VP at Agilus and will report to Brown.

Terms of the transaction were not announced.
