In 2024, Sue Burnett celebrated Burnett Specialists’ 50th anniversary, having grown it from a five-employee startup to one of the largest employee-owned US staffing firms today. Under her guidance, the company’s stock has soared 375% over the past 14 years. To acknowledge this milestone year, Houston Mayor John Whitmire proclaimed Aug. 1 as Burnett Specialists Day. Recognized as Houston’s largest placement firm by the Houston Business Journal for the 15th consecutive year, the company was also named HR Supplier of the Year by the HR Houston Association. An advocate of DE&I, Burnett was named Texas Diversity Council’s 2024 Woman of the Year.
