Susan Haseley
Honoree profile
As chief ESG and DE&I officer at Robert Half, Susan Haseley has been instrumental in laying a strong DE&I foundation, working to build an enterprise-wide global strategy embedded in the organization’s core values. “We want to be a place to work where everyone in our organization feels included and they feel they belong,” she says.
Haseley has been passionate about advancing diversity, equity and inclusion for more than 30 years. “Early on in my career, I entered rooms and was often the only woman present. I noticed that feeling of ‘wow’ when initially entering the workforce and as I’ve moved through various roles,” she says Since then, Haseley has prioritized helping other people and promoting DE&I in the workplace.
One of her goals has been to help others grow and advance in their careers. She was fortunate to have had a great sponsor and mentor to help her navigate the challenges of the business environment, she explains. This pivotal experience led her and her team to create an 18-month mentorship program at Protiviti, Robert Half’s global consulting subsidiary, that pairs leaders with executive leaders within the company who can help guide, mentor and sponsor them.
We want to be a place to work where everyone in our organization feels included and they feel they belong.
For organizations looking to advance DE&I, Haseley recommends anchoring it in their company values. “Inclusion is one of our [four] values … and since it is one of our values, it means if you join our organization, you agree to living these values,” she says. “It’s amazing to see how the program has an impact on individuals,” she says
Haseley’s work doesn’t stop in the workplace; she is an active member of the Dallas community and volunteers with the Family Gateway homeless shelter, the North Texas Food Bank and the Dallas Chamber of Commerce Executive Women’s Forum. In addition, she leads a women’s mentorship and learning circle for a program organized by CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion.
