Korryn Williamson
Honoree profile
Korryn Williamson joined the staffing industry in 2018 at a company that afforded her ample professional opportunities. She quickly realized, however, her client companies didn’t offer similar possibilities. This launched her journey to improve opportunities for everyone. .
Williamson credits her career to an Insight Global program called It’s the Journey, where she was mentored by the company president. “This was instrumental in navigating my career and challenging me to grow,” she says. She started out as an entry-level account manager in 2018 and now holds the title of director of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. In this role, she can influence others at the highest level by leading workshops for C-level executives while also having a broad impact by presenting to groups of more than 300 attendees. Regardless of audience, her message of DE&I being a journey, coming from a place of humility and sharing through the power of connections and relationships remains the same.
When we cheer for our [favorite] team, we don’t think about diversity; we just cheer together, and that’s how we should be working in our companies.
A native of Oakland, California, Williamson recently had the honor of being able to bring her knowledge on leadership, allyship and pride to a former local NFL team, the Las Vegas Raiders, of which she is a big fan. In addition, she was excited to partner with the Las Vegas WNBA team, the Aces, on this same topic. For all clients, she advises a patient and pragmatic approach. “It’s human nature to want to solve something quickly, but it’s also important to understand how you got somewhere.”
Williamson is committed to following this approach this year and beyond. Her team has doubled in size, and she wants to continue to grow as a leader both professionally and personally. Her mission is to bring everyone together, remembering that we all belong. It’s not meant to be us versus them, she notes, adding that everyone should see others as members of their own team. “At a Raiders game, when we cheer for our team, we don’t think about diversity; we just cheer together, and that’s how we should be working in our companies.”
