Floss J. Aggrey
Honoree profile
As a child, Floss J. Aggrey always sought to be empathetic and understand people, which is what has driven her lifelong commitment to DE&I. “Having a level of empathy, so that people can feel welcomed from all backgrounds, is a driving force for me,” she explains. “It’s about changing hearts and minds.”
With nearly two decades of experience, the chief diversity and inclusion officer navigates a dynamic landscape at Randstad and beyond. A recent accomplishment of which she is particularly proud is having secured a new client that expands Randstad’s outreach to people of color: 2045 Studio, a private membership network that works to advance influential professionals of color.
She also works extensively on internal company-wide events. For example, she created the Equity Exchange sessions, where employees meet to discuss the current state of DE&I and clarify misinformation.
As leaders in staffing, we have to show others and be the example of what good looks like in terms of behavior. Always go back to your values and ask yourself, does this align?
Aggrey is excited when clients express interest in learning how others are navigating challenges and what the latest trends are. To feed this appetite, she has organized fireside chats, connecting leaders, executives and clients. And in May, the company hosted a Mastermind Summit for senior-level professionals. Diversity was a focal point across all aspects of the panels — featuring experts from AI, finance and marketing industries — ensuring an inclusive range of perspectives.
Aggrey believes professions and enterprises must be open to change for DE&I to be successful in corporate America today. “As leaders in staffing, we have to show others and be the example of what good looks like in terms of behavior,” she explains. “Always go back to your values and ask yourself, does this align? Should we be operating in a more equitable way?”
And Aggrey’s efforts are not going unnoticed. Under her leadership, Randstad last year earned Brandon Hall Awards in three categories: Best Advance in Diversity Strategy, Best Advance in a Diversity Recruiting Strategy and Best Advance in Leading DE&I Initiatives.
In her free time, Aggrey mentors youth and helps those in need at her church in Georgia, a commitment that stems from her faith and brings her fulfillment.
