honoree profile

As a leader in Wells Fargo’s contingent labor program, Jay Vilord works in the organization’s procurement department, Supply Chain Management. In his role, Vilord leads the direct sourcing program, spearheads bulk hiring needs and handles all payroll hiring for US-based contractors.

Vilord first started his career on the staffing supplier side and then moved into corporate recruiting before making the jump to contingent labor programs. He has been working in the field for more than 10 years. “What I love most about my work is getting to build strong partnerships with internal leaders while also developing innovative strategies that solve complex contingent labor problems,” he says.

Over the past 18 months, Vilord has successfully led the direct sourcing program at Wells Fargo, while also achieving significant cost savings. His program has enabled the organization to broadly expand its labor skillset. In the future, Vilord plans to build more partnerships with diverse suppliers while continuing to drive cost savings.
