2024 CW Program Game Changers

Brian Brucker

Contingent Labor Program / Procurement Manager | McAfee

honoree profile

Having previously worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a contingent labor program manager and an HR workforce planning manager, Brian Brucker’s career path has always centered around people. In his seven years at McAfee, one of the world’s largest suppliers of internet security software, Brucker has taken an antiquated contingent labor program that was divested from Intel and transformed it into a full-scope program with an eightfold increased spend under management and reduced cost of operations.

Brucker is proud of McAfee’s technology evolution during this process; the organization moved from cumbersome processes in multiple tools to a streamlined, integrated workflow. “The justification was both program and IT focused,” he explains. “We focused on sunsetting old tools and consolidating workflows in one platform.” And his enthusiasm caught on quickly: The project began in August 2023 and was completed in mere months. “The exciting part is we were live by the start of 2024,” Brucker says. “People love the new tools.” Thanks to his vision, 42 previously required integrations were decommissioned, and McAfee retired the previous worker ID tool. What once took six hours and manual steps to onboard a contingent worker now takes place in an hour or less. Furthermore, all executives now have full visibility into the entire workforce.

Brucker loves the dynamism of the contingent labor space. “My favorite thing is working with people across the business,” he says. “One day we’ll be dealing with an issue in India, a couple of hours later it will be something in Canada. I love the constant interactions.”
