Amy Geiger

Senior Director, Flex Talent Solutions | Marriott International

honoree profile

With a background in hospitality and customer service, Amy Geiger considers herself to be in the perfect job — one that enables her to do what she loves for a company she believes in with people she enjoys working with. “My favorite thing is helping a manager land a great hire and a person land a great job,” she says.

An energetic leader who has learned that all projects have their ways of stopping and starting, Geiger is not afraid to move forward on multiple projects simultaneously in order to get results. Over the last several years, she’s overseen a request for proposal process for a new VMS and launched its integration, reduced recruiting work streams to improve efficiency and reduce costs, shifted to direct sourcing for IT and other professionals, and brought in a third party to review independent contractor compliance.

Additionally, long-term cost savings from direct sourcing and new technology initiatives implemented by her team are expected to provide funding for future initiatives. Geiger’s team has also been able to better attract great talent by providing great platforms and support for contingent workers. “Our team is very popular,” she says proudly.

Over the next few years, Geiger’s professional plate will be equally full as she leads the integration of the VMS and timekeeping systems at Marriott hotels across Canada, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. Further out, she aims to expand her program globally.
