Maria Jimenez

Senior Manager, Global Contingent Workforce, Sony Interactive Entertainmen

Honoree Profile

Just four years into her tenure at Sony Interactive Entertainment, Maria Jimenez has seen her program double in size. As the senior manager of the global contingent workforce, she now leads a program with more than 1,000 contingent workers on assignment in North America and EMEA.

One of Jimenez’s first initiatives upon joining the gaming and entertainment giant was to capture and incorporate the contingent workforce processes of Network Entertainment into the MSP program of Computer Entertainment as part of the divisions’ merger to become Sony Interactive Entertainment. Then it was on to updating the VMS that the company was using. Last year, she led the RFP and selection process for a provider that would help automate the candidate engagement process, enhance the manager and contingent worker onboarding experience and drive additional cost savings. “The biggest thing I told myself before I got into the RFP for the new VMS was that I didn’t want to go with a big VMS. I wanted to look at smaller, more agile companies and break away from the mold,” Jimenez shares.

Jimenez has successfully built relationships with multiple departments at the organization, enabling her to streamline processes and implement the new VMS much more easily. She has created and delivered formal co-employment training and led many enterprise change management efforts — such as revising legacy policies and procedures, Covid-related contingent workforce planning initiatives and the current VMS implementation.

After getting the VMS up and running this fall, Jimenez has her eye on championing MSP and VMS support for contingent processes in the UK and beyond.
