2020 CW Program Game Changers

Philippe Eisenmann

Head of Extended Workforce, Grab

Honoree Profile

Since joining Grab, an everyday app in Southeast Asia, in January, Philippe Eisenmann and the extended project team at Grab together developed the company’s first extended workforce management program covering the entire region. In addition to Southeast Asia, the program focuses on Grab’s internal contingent workforce needs globally, including in China, India and the US.

Eisenmann implemented a vendor management system, an extended workforce policy and a managed service provider to drive standards across the region with different needs. Challenges include adjusting to the different cultures and different interpretations of work. Eisenmann must ensure Grab’s programs and policies provide workers with the rights mandated by the applicable governments. “Just as we provide everyday services that improve the quality of life for people in Southeast Asia, we want to make sure our workforce is well taken care of as well,” Eisenmann says. “The care we provide is important. We want to extend a standardized approach to how we manage our extended workforce.”

Prior to joining Grab, Eisenmann was an operations director for Allegis Global Solutions, managing the contingent workforce program for Microsoft in Asia Pacific.
