Nigel Hapuarachchi

Nigel Hapuarachchi didn’t always see himself in staffing. For many years, he worked in retail management for the Aldo Group, but when the staffing industry found him about 10 years ago, he was ready for a new challenge. Since then, he has found great purpose in impacting both individuals and businesses. As the VP of business development and delivery at Acara Solutions, Hapuarachchi has found his passion for solving complex problems and helping others succeed.

“It’s really fulfilling to be part of a process that not only helps individuals find meaningful work or employment but also supports businesses in building high-performing teams,” Hapuarachchi says. “And that’s something I’m really proud of.”

In the past five months, Hapuarachchi played a key role in the successful launch of a new contingent workforce program, which was one of the largest customer acquisitions for Acara Solutions, working hand in hand with delivery teams to ensure a successful launch.

But what Hapuarachchi is most proud of is investing in his team’s potential. “Nothing is more rewarding than … motivating [your team] to exceed their own expectations and giving them the opportunity to learn and grow,” he says. “Beyond any individual achievement, award or accolade, witnessing my team grow and excel has been the single most rewarding part of my career.”

Looking ahead, Hapuarachchi sees technological advancements further disrupting the staffing sector. AI might be the current buzzword, he says, but he sees the hunger for data and predictive analytics playing a key role in answering questions about DE&I, skills-based hiring and the employee experience, among other fields.
