Nick DeKoster

Like many in this industry, Nick DeKoster says he fell into the world of staffing by chance — but it didn’t take him long to realize he’d found his place. Today, DeKoster serves as Affinity’s director of healthcare and public sector and is known for his and commitment to mentorship and societal well-being.

While this accolade may be an individual one, DeKoster attributes his success to his team. From 2022 to 2023, DeKoster and his team increased revenue to $32.7 million from $22.5 million with their healthcare and public sector clients, a 39% year-over-year growth, and added a remarkable 21 new clients in the public sector last year. For DeKoster, the success of his longstanding team members is one of the most motivating aspects of the job. He notes that at the start, the learning curve was steep, but now, everyone’s hitting their targets. “When that shows up on paper and their hard work and dedication to the craft really pays off, I love seeing how their lives outside of work change as a result of that.”

When DeKoster joined Affinity in 2019, he brought a strategic vision to expand its healthcare and public sector partnerships in Canada under a unified approach. Now, he says, he is deeply inspired seeing these partnerships “translate to real-world changes in our communities.” As he looks to the future, he is excited to see operational improvements through technology automation, noting that this will free up time for his team to have impactful conversations with clients and consultants.
