After launching Titan Consulting in 2022 with a focus on IT staffing in Canada, Luke Melymick oversaw big changes for the company’s sophomore year. Expanding into the US as well as other sectors are points of pride, along with 100% revenue growth.
Melymick’s competitive nature, honed during a professional baseball career, drives his ambition and strategic vision for his current team. “I want to grow Titan to be a big-time player in multiple industries,” he says, listing engineering, healthcare, legal and sales as examples.
In an industry that he observes can be “robotic,” relationships are at the core of Melymick’s strategy for impacting both clients and candidates. “I want to roll out the red carpet, take a relationship-based approach and make an everlasting connection.”
Diversity is also a priority, with women comprising 40% of Titan’s management team and 70% of all employees. Melymick explains, “I can’t preach diversity if I don’t promote it myself.”
Seeing a need for university students to be mentored in recruitment, Melymick set up an internship program to train students to become HR professionals in recruitment. “The biggest thing is getting good, strong, junior talent,” he observes. “It’s all about attitude and aptitude, and then you can teach what they need to know.” Titan partnered with five Canadian universities in the first year, with plans to expand to additional schools in Canada and the USA.
