Want to know how an evolving skill might affect your talent pool? Koye Adejumo and his team have the answer. Adejumo leads Sevenstep’s Operational Excellence function, which he originated two years ago to put his deep analytics and finance expertise to their best use. Today, his team creates new models to generate transformative insights about the hiring landscape.
The 2008 recession provided an unlikely but fruitful opportunity for Adejumo — who is originally from a finance background — to bring his data and analytical skills to the staffing industry. He took a role at an RPO organization working with a banking client that was going through organizational change. “They needed someone who understood data to help centralize their global hiring data and performance metrics,” Adejumo explains. The timing was ideal, he says, and a genuine passion for the world of staffing soon took hold.
Today, that passion inspires Adejumo’s work with his team at Sevenstep. “We’re building new models every day and listening to our clients’ challenges and future market trends,” he says. “We’re augmenting external data sources such as labor market reports and economic data alongside ATS and CRM data to provide a holistic view of the talent landscape.”
Adejumo predicts that through these efforts, the outcomes of data and analytics efforts in staffing will become far more meaningful. “Integrating data sources and applying predictive analytics gives companies an advantage in spotting issues and setting a path forward. We have the platform to do just that, and it is a great experience leading a team that puts that capability to work.”
