Kellum Thomas II
honoree profile
Kellum Thomas II might have pursued a career in pharmacy if not for his family’s timely intervention. “Life had other plans for me. When I finished school, I realized that pharmacy, though a commendable profession, wasn’t my true calling. My relatives, well established in the staffing industry, suggested I’d thrive as a recruiter,” he recalls. “I thought, why not? And the rest is history.”
Thomas quickly developed a passion for the staffing industry but soon discovered that the recruiting aspect wasn’t his destined path. After exploring various roles, he found his niche in the MSP program with Allegis Global Solutions in 2018. As procurement executive since 2022, Thomas oversees a contingent workforce program comprising more than 8,000 contingent resources across India, EMEA and North America.
Currently, Thomas and his team are spearheading a global expansion into APAC for a client. This initiative aims to extend AGS’ statement of work services and contingent staffing across multiple countries.
Beyond his zeal for procurement, Thomas is a staunch advocate for DE&I in the workplace. He has shared his insights on numerous panels, including ProcureCon in April, where he addressed over 500 industry professionals. Additionally, he spoke at the 2024 AGS Customer Council as part of the equity panel in May.
“I aspire to wield significant influence across the industry, ensuring my voice is not just heard but valued,” he asserts.
Looking to the future, Thomas foresees a streamlined industry where artificial intelligence enhances solutions, mitigates inefficiencies, and drives innovation. “AI’s purpose is to solve, not stir,” he says. “It’s imperative to embrace perpetual growth, evolution and advancement.”
