Jessica Franson
honoree profile
Jessica Franson discovered the staffing industry while job hunting after graduating with a business degree in 2011, admitting she applied to various jobs “without even knowing the field existed.” Thirteen years later, Franson is an industry veteran currently serving as GetMed Staffing’s director of nursing and allied with no intention of ever leaving the field.
Described by colleagues as “the GOAT” — slang for “the greatest of all time” — Franson has had a remarkable year despite the tumultuous and unpredictable circumstances of travel nurse staffing. In 2023, Franson led GetMed’s nursing division to 21% year-over-year revenue growth while expanding her team’s internal headcount by 157% and its external headcount by 96%.
“However, my proudest achievement lies in fostering a workplace culture defined by teamwork, collaboration and trust,” Franson says. “By prioritizing open communication, mutual respect and support, I cultivated an environment where every team member feels valued and empowered to contribute their best.”
While the “how” may be constantly evolving in the world of healthcare staffing, Franson’s “why” is unwavering: making a positive impact on the lives of others. Whether it’s offering guidance and resources or simply lending a listening ear, Franson derives great joy in helping those around her reach personal and professional goals. “I am a firm believer that we aren’t meant to take on everything life throws at us on our own,” she says. “I have been blessed with an amazing support system of family, friends and mentors, and if I can make even the slightest impact in someone else’s life the way mine have for me, I will.”
