Erin Adams never expected to work at a staffing company, but after more than 13 years at Malone Workforce Solutions, she can’t imagine doing anything else. “I love that there’s always a challenge,” she says. 

Adams began her career at Malone in accounts payable and earned several promotions with her hard work. She was a key leader in the post-Covid staffing landscape and helped grow the company’s revenue almost 50% from 2020 to 2022. Her expertise, combined with her proactive approach to cost-saving initiatives, led to her appointment as CFO. 

Adams is proud of implementing the company’s first-of-its-kind budgeting and financial reporting, which have enabled the company to harness the power of data-driven decision making. “That has had a huge impact, even for [people in] the field,” Adams says. “It’s allowed us to have operations and people in the field become more metrics driven and metrics thinking.”

But it’s the desire to help people and collaborate with others that keeps Adams passionate about her job. Adams always pictured accounting as an isolated profession — but the collaborative environment makes her excited to come to work each day. “I love that I’m able not just to make an impact in accounting but work across departments and divisions to really make decisions as a group,” she says. 

There’s also a great sense of purpose in her work, which Adams loves. “I like that we’re helping people find jobs and that we’re actually making a difference in employees’ lives,” she says. “It is nice to be in an industry where there’s a bigger picture — we are making an impact.”
