Britni Prentice
honoree profile
“A new problem every day” motivates Britni Prentice in her role as the youngest director of sales at Cella by Randstad Digital.
“For me, truly, it’s about problem solving,” she explains. “I love building relationships with my clients. When they really trust you and say, ‘We have this problem; can you help us brainstorm a solution?’ — that’s the goal for me.”
Prentice began working in the staffing industry after graduating college amid a recession. This has come full circle, as she has now been leading her team through another down economy. “2023 was a tough year in our industry. But not only did we grow, but we also beat our growth goal,” Prentice says. “That’s something I’m really proud of. I was able to grow my team versus having to go through layoffs.”
Prentice also takes pride in the impact she’s had on diversity, equity and inclusion. She hosted an executive roundtable which enabled the sharing of DE&I lessons learned and best practices within the creative community. She also spearheaded the adoption of preferred pronoun usage in Cella’s talent submissions. She notes, “Asking ‘What’s your pay, location and pronouns?’ is now part of our standard interview process.” This has had an impact beyond Cella, with one of her clients now requiring all of its staffing suppliers to include preferred pronouns in candidate submissions.
With AI and automation already part of her team’s everyday work, Prentice sees this expanding significantly in future, and staying relevant with new tools and business approaches is key. “You have to be really open and aware of everything that’s going on so you can find the most holistic approach for your client.”
