Adam Chambers
honoree profile
When Adam Chambers graduated from university, he had one primary goal: adventure in his twenties. His first postgrad job was teaching English to Chinese children, but his role quickly expanded to include recruiting thousands of other English-speaking teachers to join. Coming from a family of healthcare professionals, Chambers recognized that his methods for recruiting ESL teachers could work for hospitals facing nursing shortages and, as they say, the rest was history.
Today, Chambers is the president of Nurse Recruitment Experts (NRX), a direct-hire recruitment firm focusing on healthcare positions. In the five years since its creation — and without external funding — Chambers has scaled NRX to 15,000 nurse applications annually and secured hospital, long-term care and ambulatory care clients across 36 US states and Canadian provinces. Chambers seeks to be a thought leader, working to help employers “fix their nursing shortage” through his podcast Nurse Recruitment Secrets, the most listened-to podcast in the healthcare recruitment category with over 12,000 listeners and 155,000 impressions industry-wide. Additionally, Chambers has published his research in influential industry publications, including SIA’s Staffing Stream, and built and launched NurseTea, a website in which nurses can share ratings and reviews of hospitals. Throughout his projects, Chambers remains focused on influencing decision makers and addressing the nursing shortage.
Chambers’ passion for the industry comes from his Christian faith, helping people achieve flexibility and greater earning opportunities. And, once Chambers has built his legacy within the staffing world, he has a few other dreams as well: to become a historian and build a “proper medieval, new Gothic style” castle.
