Jessica Ashcraft, global VP of marketing at VMS provider Beeline, is all about using customer insight and tech to give her company an edge. Her strategy is using Beeline’s brand recognition to influence revenue while positioning the company as a global leader.
So, she keeps a keen eye on technology and how it’s transforming the staffing industry.
“We are going to see more changes over the next five years,” Ashcraft says.
Technology has already brought many new things - companies like Uber and Lyft were essentially unheard of 10 years ago. And Ashcraft, who is based in Jacksonville, Florida, works on the front lines of technology enabling the workforce at Beeline, and gets to see how Beeline’s technology changes over time as staffing and the workforce, in general, continue to evolve.
“My children, who are very young, are going to find jobs much differently from how you and I did,” she says. The jobs may not even exist right now. “It will be really interesting to see how staffing transitions through this digital transformation era.”
Ashcraft got into the staffing industry right out of college and joined The Adecco Group via MPS Group, which Beeline was a part of (Adecco acquired MPS Group in 2009). Through a series of acquisitions, Beeline merged with fellow VMS provider IQNavigator in a deal announced at the end of the 2016. Helping integrate the marketing and brand of the two large VMS providers is one of her biggest accomplishments.
Speaking of new kinds of work, Ashcraft cited “social influencer” as one such job that didn’t exist until very recently. In fact, her husband is a social influencer - @bourbonenthusiast on Instagram. Although she doesn’t drink bourbon, she does help run the company on the side as a hobby.
